On Mondays, from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m., our staff and volunteers provide an opportunity for our women to take a shower, eat a nourishing meal, and have their clothes laundered. We offer activities that foster community, and we offer rest for those who are weary. We give each woman a care bag that includes essentials they need to survive life on the streets.
The remainder of the week we help each woman access the community resources available to help them. Some examples would be getting an ID and Social Security card; applying for food stamps; and accessing a variety of healthcare options.
On Thursday evenings, we provide street outreach to the women who call Summer Avenue home. We distribute care bag, blankets, sleeping bags, and smiles.
