THISTLE & BEE TO LEASE LISIEUX RESIDENCE

Mutually beneficial agreement made between two Memphis non-profit organizations

Memphis, TN: The Boards of the Community of St. Therese of Lisieux and Thistle & Bee Enterprises are pleased to announce they have reached an agreement that will be of great benefit to both ministries and to the women they serve. Beginning in February 2019, Thistle & Bee, which provides meaningful employment to survivors of trafficking and prostitution, will be leasing the residence owned by the Lisieux Community. As a result, survivors who are employed at Thistle & Bee will have the advantage of living in community in a safe and comfortable home, and the Lisieux Board’s goal of having the women who live at the house receive the benefit of a life-enriching program— including the services of a licensed professional counselor—will be met. The Lisieux Community has begun to develop a new program to serve survivors; details will be announced soon.

Each of the Boards wishes the other great success in their work, and they commend each other as a worthy recipient of support, donations, and volunteer efforts. Together these organizations are committed to providing survivors with opportunities for healing and growth so they may be fully restored to their families and to the community at large.

The Lisieux Community provides support and education for women who have survived trauma, addiction, prostitution, and life on the streets.

Thistle & Bee is a social enterprise created to employ women who have survived trafficking and prostitution.
